The Israeli / Palestinian conflict has been a raging battle between two ideologies, two religions, two groups of people, and two cultures for sixty years. Content for this piece came from an Israeli news source, a Palestinian news source, and the New York Times about the same event in the conflict. By screen printing the three articles on three pieces of glass, separating the Israeli article from the Palestinian article by the American article, I express the conflict through their visual interaction. Intended to be hung away from a wall, individuals have the ability to walk around the piece. When viewing it from one perspective, the New York Times article is seen as backwards (literally), and comes before the opposing perspective, which is also backwards. In this piece, I deliver an objective yet moving perspective from which to understand the media coverage surrounding the conflict.
