Charged with the task of creating two posters, one involving “peace” and the other “harmony”, my process began by building a geographic structure out of the words themselves. Because war, ethnic differences, and religious strife plague the country of Nigeria, I avoid visuals that would focus on particularities within the country. Instead, my vision of peace and harmony begins in the geographic location of Nigeria and dynamically emanates outward to the rest of the world. Conceptually, I express the idea that small change in one locale, like Nigeria, can bring about large-scale change throughout the world.
